About the event

On August 26–28, 2025, a satellite event of the Congress of Young Scientists will take place in Tula.

Satellite events of the Congress of Young Scientists are held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology, declaredDecree of the President of the Russian Federation dated April 25, 2022 No. 231 "On Declaring the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation".

The goal of the satellite event is to involve the Russian scientific community in solving a wide range of practical tasks in the region.

Topics set by the region:

  1. Working with hazardous water treatment waste: neutralization and use for household purposes.
  2. Tools for combating the spread of Borshchevik Sosnovsky in the Tula region.
  3. Issues of the environmental situation in the Tula region: filtration of wastewater and gas mixtures at industrial enterprises.

The program

Throughout all days of the event, participants work in project groups together with representatives of the regional authorities and business, present their proposals for solving the region's tasks based on their own conducted research and developments, and also make visits to regional infrastructure facilities

  • In the letter, inform about your consent to participate, the full name of the participant/s, the full name of your organization, the city of residence, and contact details for feedback (phone and email).

Registration of participants will begin at the event venue on August 26. Each participant will be issued a personalized badge. The badge and an identity document must be carried with you throughout your stay at the event venue

Participants of the Congress satellite event can use services to organize a comfortable stay on the venue and effective work at the event.

Passage

Please note that there is no airport in Tula.The nearest airports are "Kaluga" and "Domodedovo" (Moscow). Then you can get to Tula by train

There are also direct trains to Tula from St. Petersburg, Kursk, Samara, and other cities.

Transfers

For participants of the event, a transfer from the railway and bus station to the hotel will be organized on August 25 on a free basis.

For the duration of the event, from August 26 to 28, participants are recommended to stay in single and double rooms at SK Royal Hotel. Breakfast is included in the room rate

For participants, coffee breaks and lunches are provided at the Event venue, as well as lunch boxes and water during visits to regional infrastructure facilities.

If you need to put a stamp on a business trip, go to the registration desk where you will receive the participant's badge.

Choosing clothes

On the days of the event, we recommend adhering to an everyday business style in clothing.

In connection with visiting regional infrastructure facilities, it is necessary to have comfortable clothing, shoes, and a headgear for protection from rain/sun/wind.

Tula is located in the UTC +3 hour time zone and coincides with Moscow time

Weather

The average air temperature at the end of August in Tula is +20...+23°C. Rain is likely during the event, so participants are advised to bring warm clothes and an umbrella

About the city

Tula is a city in Russia located on the Central Russian Upland, on the Upa River.

Tula is widely known for three "crafts" of its residents – the production of weapons, samovars, and gingerbread – whose roots go deep into the city's history. Each of them is represented in Tula by a corresponding museum:Museum of Weapons, ,Museum of SamovarsandTula Gingerbread Museum.

Also one of the "calling cards" of Tula is the Tula Kremlin – the oldest building in the city, a monument of 16th-century architecture.

Tula is one of the most economically developed cities in Russia, a major industrial, scientific, and cultural center, and an important railway junction.

The organizers of the Congress satellite event are: the Administration of the City of Tula, the Roscongress Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Scientific and Educational Policy, the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education, and the Operator of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.
