Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
About the event
On September 24–26, 2025, the IV satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists will take place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The satellite events of the Congress of Young Scientists are held within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology, declared by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated April 25, 2022, No. 231 "On the Declaration of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation."
The goal of the satellite event is to involve the Russian scientific community in solving a wide range of practical tasks in the region.
In agreement with the Government of Kamchatka Krai, in 2025, the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering acts as the organizer of this event and ensures its holding on its premises (Leninskaya St., 69).
A wide scientific and popular program is timed to coincide with the satellite event as part of the "Science 0+" festival, which will take place from September 22 to 28, 2025, including breakfasts with scientists in schools of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district and Elizovsky municipal district, scientific and educational lectures from scientists of the "Knowledge" society and the All-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society," seminars on scientific communication for young scientists and journalists, as well as other events.
Tasks set by the region:
- Snow and debris-stone avalanches of the Paratunka River valley, Vilyuchinsky and Mutnovsky volcanoes.
- New high-tech tsunami forecasting methods in the Khalaktyar Beach area.
- Seismic monitoring system and seismic-resistant construction technologies of the "Campus of Discoverers" in Kamchatka.
Educational track: All-Russian Scientific School of Young Scientists, Students, and Postgraduates "Technologies of Search, Exploration, and Modeling of Geothermal Deposits".
