pfi announces open youth project selection

In anticipation of V Young Scientists Congress, which will take place on November 26–28, 2025, on the federal territory of "Sirius," the Foundation for Advanced Research announces the launch of a competition among young and ambitious specialists with the support of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers (VOIR). The goal of the competition is to stimulate promising developments, encourage active scientific and technical search for new ideas for the development of domestic biomedical, aerospace, land, and marine technologies, promising electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the development of professional competencies.

Applications can be submitted by both young scientists-researchers (individuals) and scientific teams. The main prize – the winner (winners) of the competition receives the preferential right to implement their idea, solution in the form of a project or research activity in the manner and on the terms determined by the regulatory documents of the Foundation, as well as the preferential right to be included in the personnel reserve of the Foundation.

"The Foundation believes in the potential of the new generation of scientists and strives to support those who are ready to make scientific discoveries and drive progress towards the development of our country's technological sovereignty. As a result of the competition, we will finance the best project, providing the necessary resources for further implementation," – Maxim Vakstein, CEO of the FPI.

The competition is held from October 13 to November 28, 2025, in two stages:

1.             Application submission and expert selection From October 13 to November 5, participants send applications in the form of summaries of ideas, solutions, and presentations to the email address konkurs@fpi.gov.ru Until November 12, the competition commission, consisting of FPI experts in the areas of the ongoing selection, p will assess the results of the participants' passage to the second (final) stage of selection and notify about the results.

2.             Face-to-face defense. Announcement of winners From November 26 to November 28 on V At the Young Scientists Congress (federal territory "Sirius"), there will be an in-person defense of the works of the participants of the second stage in the format of presentations. After the presentation and a series of answers to questions, the participants will receive feedback and ratings from the members of the competition commission. On November 28, the winners of the competition will be announced.

 

FPI has been cooperating with leading technical universities for more than ten years, which has led to the development of a number of breakthrough technologies: D.I. Kharkiv State Technical University.   Mendeleev has developed a system for recording, reading, and information carriers based on quartz glass for archival data storage systems, MSTU named after N.E. Bauman has developed a technology for creating prototypes of metamaterials and adaptive materials of the new generation, and the Southern Federal University has developed a system for medical-psychophysiological support of professional reliability of personnel.
